Plant Transformation Research Technologist

. The UNL Plant Transformation Core Research Facility (PTCRF) develops new technologies for crop genetic improvement and supports collaborative research toward engineering regenerative and resilient crops for food, biofuel, and specialized metabolite production.
- Design and conduct research on genetic engineering studies of wheat and soybeans to meet the Core Facilities objectives.
- Produce recombinant DNA constructs, plant transformation, and analyze transformed plants for gene expression.
- Lead and document the progress of specific research projects associated with the position and draft for publication.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in plant sciences or related field plus two years of experience in a plant-related research laboratory. Additional completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience in and/or knowledge of greenhouse work and operations.
- Master’s degree in plant sciences or related field.
