$50,000 per hour. Additional $3 per hour facility differential for hours worked, plus $1.50–$2.50 shift differential.

Under limited supervision of a Nursing Director/Associate or Nurse Supervisor, you will provide professional nursing care for ill, injured, or disabled inmates. You will give clinical direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and direct care staff, provide direct patient nursing care and treatment within the scope of licensure in a correctional setting, and perform patient care in a clinic or hospital setting.

Responsibilities include administering medications, transcribing and carrying out doctor's orders, assessing patients using protocols, triage, and assisting in moving patients.

Minimum Qualifications: A current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Registrar in Nebraska.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in assigning, reviewing, leading, or supervising the work of others.

Other: Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Will complete four to eight weeks of on‑the‑job training. Must submit to background security check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass a pre‑employment medical examination and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services’ Pre‑service Training Program.
