In this role you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of Union craft technicians on your shift. You will be responsible for escalation/handover/coordination with production during shifts, monitoring and coordinating overtime costs/PTO/time tracking, spare part costs, and monitoring PM programs and schedules with the PM coordination team. This position will report to the Maintenance Superintendent.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT- Manage and lead the Union Craft technicians to reduce equipment downtime and increase time to failure
- Make decisions on the best course of action regarding equipment downtime and scheduling the techs according to PM’s and down equipment
- Promote and monitor Safety throughout your area and in the plant
- Promote and train TPM/PM concepts and effective problem solving (CBS, 5 whys, Clean, Inspect, Repair)
- Mentor and train (or request training) as necessary, to ensure the team is capable and effective in maintenance and repair of equipment
- Manage the performance of the maintenance team and address deficiencies when necessary
- Monitor and ensure execution of PM tasks, follow up on completion and quality of work
- Document attendance, vacations, etc., and perform other administrative functions for the maintenance team
- Collect and assign maintenance best practices for consistency across all shifts
- Partner with team to address hands‑on maintenance activities as required
- Responsible for performance feedback, updating your manager with situation reports
- Use of maintenance analytical tools (Power BI, PUMA, SAP PM) to support reliability improvement and cost management
THE ROLE
- HS Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing and or maintenance
- 2+ years of manufacturing/production/maintenance experience
- Strong leadership, presentation, problem‑solving, and group dynamics skills.
- Ability to work off shifts as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of supervisor experience
- Previous Maintenance Tech experience
- Union experience
