Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and facilities
- Perform general and preventative maintenance to assure minimal downtime
- Determine root cause and formulate corrective actions for all equipment failures, including PM development, operator/technician training, or engineering solutions
- Maintain proper records and files
- Promote and exhibit strong personal and food safety practices – no shortcuts
- Ensure timely and proper completion of work orders
- Maintain pneumatics, hydraulics, AC frequency drives, instrumentation
- Welding and fabrication abilities (arc, MIG, TIG, oxy‑acetylene, etc.)
- Work with industrial electricity (master controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery, including all three‑phase 480 V and 220 V systems
- Rebuild gears, motors, conveyors, reducers, bearings and other mechanical components
- PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Read and comprehend standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, schematics, etc.
- Work as a self‑starter, finding work when none is given
- Handle reordering of parts
- Hold yourself to higher standards (e.g., replacing wire nuts with butt splices or correcting improperly spliced cables)
- Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably food)
- 2‑year technical degree preferred (Electrical/Mechanical preferred)
Sitting: 0%. Standing: 80% (manual dexterity high). Walking: 20% (telephone minimal). Kneeling: some. Bending: some. Lifting: 50 lbs. The position is in a manufacturing facility with relative humidity 50–70% and machinery noise. Hearing protection is required. Plant uniforms and steel toe shoes are mandatory.
