GENERAL SUMMARY
Serves as a part of the patient care and support teams. Primary responsibilities include ensuring assigned area is maintained and daily workload is completed by coordinating, assisting with and monitoring the work of assigned staff; mentoring employees and overseeing quality assurance activities. Ensures work is completed in accordance with department and Medical Center policies, procedures and infection control guidelines.

* Delegates and directs workload/periodic assignments and monitors employee's progress to ensure timely completion; ensures effective employee use of time and other resources.
* Anticipates/recognizes problem solving opportunities and responds appropriately.
* Encourages, redirects, corrects and documents employee performance as appropriate.
* Provides assistance to employees as appropriate to meet customer demands and appropriate timelines; accesses medication rooms without supervision to perform necessary cleaning.
* Assesses employee competencies and level of performance; cross trains employees into specialized areas and periodic assignments and documents training.
* Utilizes computer to complete required job training and personnel-related activities as needed.
* Wears appropriate protective equipment for products and equipment being used and work assignments being completed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalency required. Minimum of six (6) months of experience performing cleaning responsibilities required, preferably in a hospital or medical environment. Prior supervisory or team lead experience desired.

Long periods of standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling and lifting. Regular exposure to blood/body fluids, chemicals, and latex.
