Golf Short Game Area and Facilities Superintendent
Our team is seeking a Facilities Superintendent to oversee the management of all outdoor spaces with a special focus on our private, natural grass short game facility in Lincoln, NE.
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our private short game facility's maintenance and operations, ensuring the course and outdoor areas are kept to the highest standards year-round. This includes a state-of-the-art Indoor Golf Performance Center, two outdoor USGA golf greens with T1 Bentgrass surfaces, as well as multiple low-mow bluegrass teeing areas and fairways, and several angular sand bunkers.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can take a hands‑on approach to planning, directing, and coordinating all functions and staff involved in maintaining attractive and functional outdoor spaces and golf facilities.
Primary duties center around:
- Directing and managing all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turfgrass, bunkers, native areas, landscaping, and irrigation
- Developing and implementing plans that align with seasonal requirements
- Monitoring course conditions daily to ensure peak playability and aesthetics
- Overseeing the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system to ensure efficient water use.
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair of all course maintenance equipment
- Developing and managing the annual agronomy budget, including labor, materials, equipment, and capital improvements.
- Working with the owner to propose long‑term course improvement projects and renovations
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, Horticulture, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
- Strong agronomic skills with a deep understanding of cool-season grasses, pest management, and sustainable practices
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with modern irrigation systems and turf equipment
- Valid pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain
