Position Summary
This high-impact role is responsible for managing the full strategic supply chain for assigned categories/commodities with up to $100M in annual spend
. You will lead supplier selection, development, and performance while partnering cross-functionally to reduce total cost, improve quality and delivery, and support both current and future product needs. - Own performance and development of the supply base for your assigned categories
- Develop and execute comprehensive category/commodity strategies that balance internal business objectives with external market dynamics
- Drive continuous total cost improvement across the supply chain
- Build and manage robust supplier portfolios focused on cost, delivery, quality, warranty, and commercial terms
- Design and lead a data-driven, cross-functional cost-reduction program — identifying, prioritizing, and executing projects on an ongoing basis
- Partner closely with Engineering on new product strategy and launch plans
- Identify, qualify, onboard, and rationalize suppliers to optimize the supply base
- Negotiate and manage all supplier agreements (NDAs, long-term contracts, stocking agreements, bailment agreements, etc.) to secure best total value, flexibility, and risk protection
- Monitor and improve key supply chain metrics (quality, on-time delivery, cost, cash, warranty)
- Leverage supply analytics tools and systems to generate actionable insights for both daily operations and long-term strategy
- Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for sole-source and critical items
- Travel 20%–50% as needed to support supplier relationships and business objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, including both strategic and tactical responsibilities
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation and contract management
- Strong experience developing and executing supply chain strategies
- Lean manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Solid knowledge of category management, supplier quality, transportation (domestic & international), and supply analytics
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems, supplier portals, and control towers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and influence at all levels of the organization
