Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

Cognizant is seeking an Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer for a remote opportunity in the US. Applicants must be physically located in the US and must have valid US work authorization. The salary range for this role is between $ 114,000 and $133,500 depending on experience and qualifications of the candidate.

The Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer will have 5-7 years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native desktop solutions. Expert in migrating on-premises virtual desktop environments to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Skilled in Power Shell automation, Azure AD, FSLogix profiling, and optimizing user experience while reducing infrastructure costs. Expert in transitioning legacy on-premises workloads to Azure Virtual Desktop to enhance scalability and remote accessibility.

• AVD Migration: End-to-end migration, Assessment, Planning, Execution.
• Azure Infrastructure: Azure VMs, VNet, Networking, Storage (Azure Files/Net App), Azure AD/Hybrid AD.
• Virtualization: FSLogix, Citrix, VMware, RDS, Terminal Services.
• Tools & Automation: Power Shell, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure Migrate, Azure Policy.
• Support: Troubleshooting, Performance Tuning, User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Lead infrastructure discovery and dependency mapping for on-prem workloads.
• Develop phased migration strategies (persistent, non-persistent, single/multi-session strategy).
• Define cutover planning, rollback strategies, and coexistence models.
• Collaborate with application teams for migration readiness and performance optimization.

7 years of Azure Virtual Desktop experience.
