Overview

The New York City Police Department strives to foster a safe and fair city through the strategic deployment of resources, focusing on both crime prevention and addressing quality-of-life concerns while building lasting community relationships.

The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) oversees critical projects and technological initiatives within the NYPD. They maintain and enhance the department's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and workstations. Notably, ITSD has rolled out various advancements, such as equipping officers with cellular phones applications and digitizing department forms to improve efficiency.

ITSD is seeking a qualified candidate in the position of IT Security Specialist to act as a Data Architect who will complete duties including but not limited to the following:

IT SECURITY SPECIALIST - 95622

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position; or,
Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

• Strong understanding of database structures, principles and practices
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019/20202
• Proficiency in SQL Server installation, configuration, patching and database back-up/recovery
• Knowledgeable with Windows server, Security delegation, Storage components
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server HADR Solution, Data Replication, SSIS and SSRS
