Job Description

This position supports the Nebraska Board of Parole by providing programmatic, statistical, and policy analysis to inform decision-making, improve operational effectiveness, support statutory compliance, and strengthen transparency and accountability. The position exists to transform complex data, program information, and operational trends into actionable analysis for Board members, executive leadership, and management.

Job Duties

Compile, validate, and analyze parole‑related data (hearings, decisions, revocations, timelines, conditions, outcomes) to support Board operations, statutory compliance, and management decision‑making. Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outcomes related to parole decision‑making, workload distribution, recidivism indicators, and system performance. Develop, maintain, and update dashboards, reports, and briefing materials for Board members, executive leadership, and external stakeholders using quantitative and qualitative data.

Provide analytical support for legislative inquiries, audits, strategic initiatives, and performance measurement, including preparation of data summaries and explanatory narratives. Collaborate with DAS, NDCS, IT, and other partner agencies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and appropriate use of shared systems and reporting tools. Prepare confidential analytical materials related to staffing, workload, operational impacts, and labor‑related considerations to inform management planning.

Respond to ad hoc data requests and conduct special analytical projects as assigned to support Board priorities or emerging issues. Explain analytical findings to non‑technical audiences and provide recommendations grounded in data and policy context. Other duties as assigned and within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Post‑high‑school coursework/training in program evaluation, financial analysis and research techniques, and experience performing or leading others in program and technical support, research or statistical analysis.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in statistics, data analytics, public administration, criminal justice, economics, or a related field. Experience in program analysis, data analysis, or performance measurement.

This position requires travel. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license or another form of reliable transportation. Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of program analysis, statistical methods, and data interpretation
  • Knowledge of criminal justice, corrections, parole, or administrative processes (preferred)
  • Skill in analyzing complex datasets and translating findings into clear reports
  • Skill in using data tools, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting software
  • Ability to identify trends, assess impacts, and make evidence‑based recommendations
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
