Functional Analyst – Payroll

The Functional Analyst – Payroll is responsible for designing, maintaining, and enhancing robust business solutions within SAP Success Factors Employee Central Payroll (ECP). This role partners with multi-layered stakeholder groups to support Endeavour Group’s people strategy, ensuring efficient employee time capture and pay processes.

Reporting to the Group Solution Manager – People Systems, this role contributes to the development, innovation, and continuous improvement of the SAP Success Factors ECP platform. The Functional Analyst ensures payroll and related processes comply with legislative requirements, organisational policies, Awards, and EBAs.

  • Drive continuous improvement, upgrades, and projects to maintain SAP Success Factors ECP and its integrations with UKG Pro WFM, Success Factors Employee Central, and finance systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, translating them into scalable payroll solutions and initiatives.
  • Manage components of large initiatives or lead end-to-end delivery of small to medium-sized projects.
  • Develop, review, and govern functional specifications and documentation defining system enhancement outcomes.
  • Lead system testing, training, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of solutions, production changes, and system upgrades.
  • Partner with external vendors to deliver effective and efficient business solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with audit requirements, application security, role design, and segregation of duties.
  • Support the governance and release management of system changes into production environments.
What do we need from you

Now let’s talk about you:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in designing or implementing SAP HCM (Time Management, Payroll) or Success Factors Employee Central Payroll.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll processes, configuration, and integrations.
  • Experience managing SAP HCM/EC Payroll Support Pack upgrades.
  • Experience in application security, including roles design, authorisation matrices, and mapping of business roles to transactions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Familiarity with Service Management tools (e.g., Service Now) and Level 2/3 support processes.
  • Testing and release management experience; retail industry exposure desirable.
  • Experience in Retail desirable.
  • liStrong ability in establishing and achieving objectives with changing and often conflicting priorities.
  • Highly organised and efficient, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrates a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member within a complex and fast paced environment.
  • Can demonstrate strong communication, facilitation, negotiating, conflict resolution and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly establish strong working relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of business and IT stakeholders from senior management to operational staff including external vendors both on and off shore.
