The Department of Administrative Services is currently seeking an IT Business Systems Analyst Coordinator to join their team. This position will be responsible for the development, configuration, and maintenance of the State of Nebraska's Human Resources Information System (Workday) maintained by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS). Human Capital Management (HCM) subject matter emphasis for this position is core Payroll and Time Tracking functions such as leave management, work time documentation, payroll processing, security, reporting, data maintenance, and integrations.
DAS HCM BAs are also responsible for user training materials and HR help desk functions.

Under limited supervision, performs business process analysis, design and configuration; provides systems support for a significant component of a major/long‑term project or major business system process/application(s); may or may not lead other information technology professional staff; performs related work as assigned; and serves as the business process leader for a major project or component of a major system used statewide by employees, governmental entities, and/or private individuals.
Workday is a SaaS product. No developer involved. The candidate hired into this position will complete configuration of the system as needed and perform the testing involved with the change.
- Serves as functional lead (coordinates work efforts, assigns work, prepares project/work plans, monitors work progress, and prepares project progress reports).
- Confer with clients to determine the business needs and requirements.
- Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
- Analyze business processes.
- Document existing business processes and proposed modified business processes.
- Document appropriate business rules, policies and standards.
- Configure the Workday application to meet the business requirements and develop business process solutions.
- Provide technical instruction/assistance on how to use automated applications.
- Investigate reported system malfunctions and document findings (solve user errors).
- Communicate with appropriate staff on identified malfunctions.
- Provide training and support to end users of the system.
- Strategize with end users and application developers to find software application solutions to business needs.
- Act as primary point of contact to answer (or follow‑up on) workflow and design‑related questions and issues.
- Analyze business system operation/function solutions for feasibility.
- Document business system operation/functions and proposed changes/modifications.
- Develop system specifications.
- Participate in system analysis and design.
- Configure system changes.
- Build data test files.
- Perform system testing.
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of business training and support material.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process solutions for large‑scale business system applications.
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of State of Nebraska HR rules and regulations.
