A stable company with deep Midwestern roots is hiring a Data Engineer to join their growing IT department. Undergoing a significant digital transformation, this critical role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions and pipelines. This role will have a focus on Azure Data Factory, Databricks and SQL server to support enterprise analytics and reporting.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Build and optimize data models, tables, and views to support reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics.
• Ensure data reliability, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring and tuning of ETL/ELT processes and databases.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather data requirements, define data contracts, and support data platform modernization.
• Apply data quality, profiling, and cleansing techniques to ensure accuracy and consistency of datasets.
• Enforce data governance and security policies, including lineage and role-based access controls.
• Support CI/CD practices through integration with Azure Dev Ops and automated data pipeline deployments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT, and database systems.
• Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning within SQL Server or similar RDBMS platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related Azure data services.
• Experience with data modeling techniques (especially dimensional modeling) and a strong understanding of data governance concepts.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Dev Ops tools (scripting languages like Python or Power Shell is a plus).

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
