Benefits Manager – Bryan Health

Join Bryan Health as a Benefits Manager. Lead the planning, implementation, communication, and ongoing management of all benefits and retirement programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Overview

Responsible for the planning, implementation, communication, operations, monitoring, auditing, and ongoing management of all Bryan Health benefits and retirement programs. Ensure effective daily operations, excellent service delivery to employee customers, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Principal Job Functions
  • Commit to the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefit and retirement programs.
  • Lead the benefits team, responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and development of staff.
  • Develop, implement, update, and audit departmental processes related to benefits and retirement plans.
  • Lead annual open enrollment processes and communications.
  • Oversee benefits administration within the HRIS system and configure benefit plans, options, and self‑service enrollment within the system. Maintain employee portal via SharePoint.
  • Maintain all plan documents and summary plan descriptions; ensure compliance with legislation; manage annual plan amendments.
  • Develop and deliver employee communication plans to drive awareness of benefits and retirement programs.
  • Develop relationships with benefit vendors, ensuring timely communications, updates, and coordinated administration. Conduct vendor audits.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefit and retirement records in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Administer pension plan benefits and manage required distributions.
  • Oversee ACA compliance; prepare and file required tax forms.
  • Manage annual 401(k) employer contribution and match true‑up process; calculate, audit, and communicate benefits.
  • Participate in departmental budgeting to ensure proper operational and capital planning.
  • Use data and research to identify trends and recommend new plans/programs to retain employees.
  • Conduct or participate in benefit surveys as appropriate.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required.

Minimum six (6) years of benefits management experience and daily administration of employee benefit programs.

Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification preferred. Healthcare industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily sedentary; may require lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
