We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Newmarket Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.
Known as a local institution where the "Newy Brews" flow and "old-school" Queensland hospitality is the standard, the Newmarket Hotel is searching for a high-energy Assistant Manager to join the crew! Whether it's a packed Sports Bar for the big game or grazing plates in our elevated Loft, we are a fast-paced community hub that prides itself on big cheesy grins and a welcoming vibe.
We are looking for a hands-on leader to help drive venue operations, mentor our team, and maintain the high standards our regulars love. If you’re a hospitality professional who thrives in a bustling, multi-faceted landmark, we’d love to have you at the Newy!
A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:- Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
- Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
- Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
- Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
- Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift
- This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
- You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
- You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
- You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
- You’ve got a current RSA and RSG/RCG as per state requirements
