Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) – Inpatient Behavioral Health – FT Days (3 days per week, 6:45 am – 7:15 pm) – Lakewood

Job Location:

101 Truman Medical Center, UH Lakewood Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

Provides supportive services for inpatient clients who are experiencing problems as a result of mental illness. Works on an interdisciplinary team, engaging in activities related to triage, risk assessments, ongoing assessment of psychosocial needs, discharge planning, information and referral, client and family education, coordination of services with managed care contacts and/or other service providers. The BH Specialist delivers and/or facilitates programs in individual, small, and large group settings.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited program in a human service field approved by the State of Missouri.
• Must obtain CPI certification; certification must be maintained for continued employment.
• Clearance through the Family Care Registry.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good leadership skills.
• Ability to evaluate program outcomes.
• Ability to work with multicultural staff and clientele.
• If driving is a requirement, the employee must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and continue to meet them as a condition of employment.
• Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment.
