The Resident Assistant, reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, supports residents in maintaining their dignity, independence, and overall quality of life by providing personal care assistance, companionship, and encouragement in daily activities. This position plays a vital role in promoting the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of residents through compassionate care, effective communication, and proactive engagement in community life.

• Assist residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
• Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output.
• Transport residents or assist with walking, turning, and repositioning.
• Change bed linens, run errands, direct visitors, and answer telephone.
• Assist with laundry and housekeeping duties.
• Assist with meals and encourage participation in activities.
• Listen to residents’ concerns, report observations to the care team promptly.
• Promote the physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of each resident.
• Follow residents’ Advance Directives and respect their wishes.
• Maintain effective communication with residents’ families regarding care.
• Work well with others, take direction from management, and engage in conflict intervention when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience as a resident assistant within a senior living community or healthcare setting preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in common digital tools and applications (Microsoft Office, web-based platforms, electronic health record systems).

• May need to walk or stand for extended periods and move throughout the community.
• May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb.
• Requires effective communication and interpretation of written information.
• May need to lift up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 200 pounds with assistance.
• Must follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including use of PPE.
• Active participation in staff activities to foster teamwork and morale.
