Our Children’s Services program offers mental health services to school‑aged youth at home, school, or in their community. Our staff have smaller caseloads, are able to see clients one or more times a week, and have flexible schedules. This helps to ensure that a child’s services are not disrupted due to transportation or family scheduling concerns.
What You’ll Do- Provide biopsychosocial assessment and case‑management services for children and youth who are ReDiscover clients.
- Assess children and families accurately using all diagnostic tools required.
- Develop treatment plans that meet the child/family/community needs and work toward meeting treatment goals.
- Follow through with all tasks and interventions identified by all parties involved.
- Integrate service provision with all parties to address client needs.
- Demonstrate clinically sound judgment and seek appropriate supervision or training for difficult clients.
- Maintain clear, concise communication that is timely and accurate with all parties.
- Meet with clients/families within the time frames established by the program.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a social science field (as defined by the Department of Mental Health).
- Advanced Missouri licensure such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT is preferred.
- Ability to work with persons with multiple challenges (mental illness, substance abuse, physical challenges, developmental disabilities, etc.).
- A valid automobile operator’s license, vehicle, and state minimum automobile coverage is required.
- At least two years of clinical experience in direct service provision to children and adolescents in a mental‑health setting preferred.
- Knowledge of community resources and health/social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing relationships with community partners preferred.
- Excellent customer‑service skills with a recovery focus.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel, and the use of email.
