Patient Care Technician (PCT) – UH Lakewood Medical Center – Med Surg (3 Days/Week, 7 AM – 7 PM)
Join the team at University Health KC as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Med Surg unit at UH Lakewood Medical Center. This position works three days per week from 7 AM to 7 PM.

UH Lakewood Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri - Hours per week: 36
- Work schedule:
6:45 AM – 7:15 PM - Position type:
Full time (3 days per week)
- Provide top‑tier care to patients in an acute care setting.
- Develop and apply technical skills with formal training.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care.
- Perform duties with pride, aligned with our high standards and mission.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current BCLS certification; must be maintained.
- Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training, or proof of competency in the required content areas, or one of the following:
- Candidate who failed state licensure exams within the past 3 years.
- Current nursing assistant certification per Missouri state regulations.
- Documented education as EMT, medical assistant, or surgical technician.
- Documented experience as a nurse assistant within the past 3 years or in a current healthcare setting providing clinical care under supervision.
- Completed professional or licensed practical nursing program outside the U.S. awaiting licensure exam in this country.
- UAP from staffing agencies must meet position requirements.
- Failure to meet the above criteria prohibits providing direct patient care to acute care patients in the outpatient setting.
