GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs high quality non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental policies, accreditation guidelines and regulatory standards to achieve positive outcomes and patient experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology with special emphasis on hemodynamics.
- Knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias and life‑threatening rhythms.
- Knowledge of patient education as it relates to cardiovascular treatment, disease prevention and rehabilitation.
- Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Skill in operating a personal computer and general office equipment.
- Skill in the performance and application of most non-invasive cardiology procedures.
- Ability to carry out daily schedule through individual or cooperative efforts.
- Ability to accurately perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of procedure scheduled.
- Ability to move and transport heavy ultrasound equipment.
- Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to practice proper body mechanics and utilize ergonomic methods/tools to ensure personal and customer/patient safety.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, medical staff, volunteer and ancillary departments including diverse patient populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical job training required.
Credential in at least two (2) of the following registry specialties required:
- Adult Cardiac Sonography: RDCS-AE (ARDMS)
-or- RCS (CCI) - Pediatric Cardiac Sonography: RDCS-PE (ARDMS)
-or- RCCS (CCI) - Vascular Technology: RVT (ARDMS)
-or- RVS (CCI) - Advanced Cardiac Sonography: ACS (CCI)
New graduates or sonographers training who are board eligible for at least two (2) registries may be hired into the Cardiovascular Sonographer II job role. A minimum of two (2) credentials must be obtained within 18 months of position start date.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONSBasic Life Support (CPR) with AED certification required within 30 days of start date. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
