Job Description:

The Licensing Specialist is responsible for reviewing, processing, and issuing Special Designated License (SDL) applications for the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. This position ensures applications comply with Nebraska liquor laws, administrative rules, and Commission policies while providing guidance and assistance to applicants, local governing bodies, and the public.

A Special Designated License allows a retail liquor license holder or nonprofit organization to sell or serve alcoholic liquor at a designated location for a special event, subject to approval from the local governing body and the Commission.

This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, facilitating timely licensing decisions, and ensuring accurate records within the Commission's licensing systems.

Job Duties:

Review and process Special Designated License (SDL) applications for completeness and compliance with applicable statutes and regulations. Verify required documentation, approvals, and fees prior to license issuance. Communicate with applicants and local governing bodies regarding licensing requirements, corrections, and application status. Maintain accurate licensing records and enter application data into the Commission's licensing system. Provide information and assistance to licensees and the public regarding SDL requirements and procedures.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with regulatory licensing processes, application review, or government database systems.

Other:
Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
This position works in a professional office environment and requires regular interaction with license applicants, local government officials, and members of the public. Work is primarily performed using computer-based licensing systems and requires maintaining strict attention to regulatory compliance and Final date to receive applicationss.
