About

the Role

As a key member of the Transportation Infrastructure team, you will contribute to the delivery of provincial and municipal roadway projects. You will be responsible for developing geometric design packages and supporting contract documentation under the direction of a Senior Engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop geometric design for highways, interchanges, arterial and collector roads
  • Prepare alignments, profiles, cross-sections, grading, and drainage coordination
  • Produce and review design drawings, reports, and quantity take-offs
  • Support preparation of contract documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Ensure compliance with MTO standards, TAC guidelines, and municipal requirements
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structures, traffic, utilities, and environmental
  • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and technical discussions
  • Provide input during construction support as required
What do we need from you
  • Civil Engineering Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in highway design, preferably including MTO projects
  • Proficiency in InRoads/Open Roads Design software, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
  • Strong knowledge of local and national highway design standards and regulations
  • Experience with traffic flow analysis and safety considerations in highway design
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments for transportation projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly adapt to new software tools
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends
