Job SummaryDesigns, develops, implements, and oversees the organization's environmental, health, and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities, ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety function, either as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

- Builds knowledge of the company, processes, and customers.
- Performs a range of assignments related to the job discipline.
- Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations.
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
- Exercises discretion and judgment consistently.
- Implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Delivers training programs on environmental concerns and health and safety risks.
- Communicates regularly with management regarding environmental initiatives.
- Maintains training records, manuals, incident reports, and other documentation.
- Tracks and documents accidents to identify causes and prevent future incidents.
- Monitors known hazards such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
- Coordinates inspections and recommends corrections to ensure compliance.
- Communicates emergency response or evacuation plans specific to facilities.
- Maintains current knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR equivalent relevant education and/or experience.
- Technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Education and experience: Bachelor's Degree.
- Discipline: Environmental Health and Safety or related field preferred.
- Skills & abilities: Knowledge of safety best practices, inspections, investigations, policies, procedures, and training.
- Must be able to remain stationary at a desk/computer for extended periods.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal hazards.
