Purpose of the Position

To provide instructional support to students assigned to this intervention while also facilitating the process of communication between teams, teachers, and families.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning.
  • Establishes, shares and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Facilitates communication between teams, teachers, and families.
  • Participates in MTSS Team meetings when requested or invited and contributes to individual student intervention plans.
  • Works with classroom teachers to receive and return classroom assignments for students assigned to the Refocus-Reset-Restore Program.
  • Consults with students individually and in groups to promote successful behavior and academic progress.
  • Monitors and collects student academic and behavioral data, as individually required by intervention plans.
  • Provides weekly updates to parents regarding student progress.
  • Participates in social emotional groups as needed or directed.
  • Analyzes and provides student progress data at monthly program meetings.
  • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Qualifications

Professional Educator License required. Previous work with self-contained or at-risk populations preferred.
