The Town of Lincoln is accepting applications for the position of Summer Education and Engagement Assistant at the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre. The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of summer education programs, camps, and community outreach activities.
Responsibilities include assisting with the planning and delivery of educational programming and camps, leading program activities, and supporting visitor and participant engagement. The position also involves working with and supervising youth volunteers, and assisting with community outreach initiatives and special events.
This role provides hands‑on experience in museum education and public programming within a professional municipal environment.
The Successful Candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C certification;
- High Five Principles of Health Child Development Certificate;
- Experience and enjoyment working with children and the public
- Pursuing a degree / diploma in education, museum studies, history, arts, art history, or related field;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and to safely lift, reach, bend, and move throughout the site while supporting active programs
- Willingness to work some weekends
- Valid Police Waiver (for those candidates over the age of 18).
This is a full-time summer student position based on 35 hours a week. Eligibility requirements will be confirmed as part of the hiring process. The hourly rate is $19.41.
