Constructors, Inc. is searching for a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate various heavy equipment involved in construction projects as required to build and maintain highways, roads, and other related infrastructure. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.

• Safely and efficiently operate and maneuver heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, graders, and pavers.
• Communicate with crew members to ensure actions of equipment are accurate to what is needed and safe to use in area.
• Conduct daily inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure usability; notify appropriate personnel of issues or repairs needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• 1 year experience operating heavy equipment; or
• equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Valid driver’s license

• Must have previous heavy equipment experience with some manual labor on plant equipment.
• Must be able to work according to seasonal and construction demand schedule; required to work a 12‑hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
• Must have previous heavy equipment experience concentrating on Grade All, road grader, backhoe, track backhoe, and any other specialty equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Must be able to sit in the equipment for extended periods of time and be subject to the bouncing of the seat in the equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence to carry out basic instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside hot and cold weather conditions. Construction site may have differential grade in walking situations. The employee is regularly exposed to construction driving conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid weather conditions; moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
