Position description

This position will perform tasks related to heavy construction projects, excavations, trenches, and demolition including laying underground utility pipe, mounting pipe hangers, digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, and supporting trenching.

Essential duties, knowledge, skills and abilities

* successful candidate will possess skills and knowledge of laying underground utility pipe.

* must be able to read grade and line.

* have a working knowledge of styles and brands of pipe.

* position is physically demanding.

* requires candidate to be a hard worker who can lift heavy loads.

* must have the ability and knowledge to run power equipment and hand held tools.

* have the ability to operate surveying and measuring equipment.

* work in a fast paced environment and possess excellent work ethic.

* will have at least two years of underground pipe laying experience.

Physical requirements

* this is physical work that requires strength and ability to perform such activities as sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, stooping, reaching, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.

* must be able to lift and carry, push and pull up to 100 pounds over a distance of 20 feet or more and work in areas where climbing a ladder is required.

* must be able to work in a loud environment.
