Job DescriptionThe Board of Educational Lands and Funds is a fiduciary trust that manages 1.2 million acres of School Trust Lands given to Nebraska by the Federal Government at Statehood, supporting Nebraska’s K-12 public schools. This position prepares all documents for agricultural leases and auctions, provides excellent customer service, maintains permanent records, and assists the CEO.

Responsibilities- Manage, coordinate and schedule all lease and land sales including preparing ag lease ads for newspapers and correspondence with county treasurers
- Complete all legal documentation of leasing via preparing leases, Natural Resource District documentation, and various other duties required by State statute
- Maintain all lease assignments and subleases
- Assist with the sale of and purchase of real estate
- Abstract permanent records in a precise manner with complicated legal descriptions and with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain all ag files
- Maintain mailing list and distribution of lease sale ads
- Continuously interact with potential farmers and ranchers inquiring about leasing procedures/requirements
- Send out and compile rental survey, record results, and complete maps for rent books
- Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings, take roll call, and assist with lease‑related discussions
- Act as administrative assistant to the CEO
- Communicate skillfully with co-workers, the Board, the public, and lessees
- Schedule travel reservations
- Collaborate with co-workers and work independently to meet deadlines
- Backup duties include opening and distribution of daily mail, receipt of incoming revenue, updating agenda, and minutes
- Other duties as required
- Minimum Qualification: Proficient in Excel and Word.

Qualification:
Knowledge of real estate or agriculture would be beneficial. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in Word and Excel and ability to prepare and communicate in person, on the telephone or in writing; work collaboratively as part of a team; and follow administrative rules and policies. Must be organized, able to work independently and detail oriented.
