Position: Clerk I - Temporary

Nature of Work

This position performs clerical and administrative work in support of the property valuation protest process in accordance with State statutes and County policies. Work involves standardized procedures and requires accuracy, attention to detail, and timely processing.

Examples of Work Performed
  • Review property valuation protest forms for completeness, accuracy, and statutory compliance
  • Maintain protest email account and upload records to the protest database in accordance with retention policies
  • Scan, upload, and process protest documentation and electronic entries
  • Schedule and reschedule protest hearings; monitor hearing availability
  • Print and mail protest-related correspondence
  • Serve as the primary contact for protest inquiries; answer phones and respond to emails
  • Provide general information and assist with scheduling referee hearings
  • Perform general clerical duties, including correspondence, copying, scanning, and inventory tracking
  • Assist with setup and administrative support at protest hearing sites

  • Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well with coworkers and the public
  • Ability to learn clerical tasks and follow established routines
  • Skill in using common office equipment

This is a temporary, full-time position in the County Clerk's Office working 40 hours per week, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. This position is not eligible for benefits.
