The Counseling Administrative Assistant will assist with tasks related to the Counseling Center, including administrative support, scheduling, customer service, etc. This position will report to the counseling Administrative Lead and will work closely with the public.
Personal Responsibilities- Be committed to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:2) by assembling for instruction in God’s Word and engaging in the personal study of God’s Word.
- Responsibly use the resources at your disposal to foster the mission and vision of Abundant Life (1 Peter 5:1-4).
- Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2:41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28:18-20).
- Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
- Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).
- Become a member of Abundant Life.
- Acts as backup for intake scheduling and answering phones for the Administrative Lead.
- Acts as backup for payment processing of counselors for the Administrative Lead.
- Processes payments for contract counselors.
- Assists with miscellaneous financial and accounting functions.
- Maintains tidiness and cleanliness of the counseling center, including the Play Therapy room, counseling rooms, and break room.
- Assists with onboarding and training of new counselors (including EMDR and other modalities).
- Assists with celebration and care initiatives for counselors year-round.
- Assists with scheduling training sessions.
- Assists with facilitating and supporting training.
- Works 24 hours per week.
- Assists with marketing the counseling center through social media, video creation, and other marketing avenues.
- Assists counselors and maintains the counseling center Rules of the Road.
- Provides administrative support and backup to the Administrative Lead for all administrative needs.
- Provides proofreading and editing assistance.
- Writes professional correspondence, including emails and letters of recommendation.
- Assists with developing teaching materials and is proficient in PowerPoint.
- Assists with phone calls, scheduling, and email responses.
- Provides administrative assistance for miscellaneous projects.
- Performs other duties as reasonably assigned.
It is essential that the Counseling Administrative Assistant is competent to CONFIDENTIALITY! – PROFESSIONALISM – ASSERTIVE – STRONG RELATIONSHIP SKILLS – HIGH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
To be successful in this position, the Counseling Administrative Assistant must be able to provide thorough administrative attention to multiple ministries. They must have excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent grammar and written communication skills with the ability to proof and edit are vital to success in this role. They must exhibit a collaborative personality that thrives on assisting others in their abilities to be successful in their roles.
This position requires the ability to succeed in an open and honest work environment and utilize a creative vision with a focus on problem‑solving, administrative implementation, and initiative.

EducationAn undergraduate degree is preferred.
