Mechanical Engineer – New South Express (Honda Logistics NA Subsidiary)

New South Express (NSE), a subsidiary of Honda Logistics North America (HLNA), is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team supporting logistics operations for Honda’s manufacturing facilities. If you’re passionate about process improvement, innovation, and driving operational excellence, this role is for you.

As a Mechanical Engineer at NSE, you will analyze and optimize production operations within an automotive material‑handling and logistics environment. Your work will have impact on cycle time, safety, ergonomics, process capability, material flow, and overall operational efficiency.

You’ll collaborate across departments, lead improvement initiatives, and help implement innovative material‑handling solutions that keep Honda’s production running smoothly.

• Analyze and improve production operations (cycle time/MOST studies, yield, safety, ergonomics)
• Lead and manage engineering and capital projects
• Coordinate cross‑functional planning and communication for continuous improvement
• Develop, justify, implement, and validate new systems and engineering changes
• Benchmark innovative solutions across the logistics industry
• Propose and deploy material‑handling and supply chain innovations
• Perform risk assessments and readiness evaluations for production changes
• Manage multiple priorities and maintain focus on critical‑path activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Logistics, or related engineering field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Experience with process improvement in manufacturing or logistics

• Experience with WMS/YMS systems
• Honda GPCS or other production ordering system knowledge
• Ability to develop analytics packages using large datasets
• 5S and R&D experience
• Project management knowledge

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
• Regular movement throughout the facility (sitting, standing, bending, reaching)
• Some travel required across North American operations
• Primarily office environment with exposure to warehouse and production areas
