Responsibilities- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, adhering to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Maintain safety in practice and apply evidence-based practices; communicate with and utilize resource persons and programs available to advance knowledge of self and the patient care team.
- Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the patient population served.
- Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members; collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs; manage the interdisciplinary team as applicable.
Required:
- BSN
- At least 1 year of Oncology RN experience
- ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification required or must obtain prior to start date
- At least 1 year of RN experience in an oncology setting administering chemotherapy
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with chemotherapy regimens, safe handling and infusion nursing practice
Preferred:
- 2-3 years of Oncology RN experience
- OCN required or obtained within 1 year of hire
- Outpatient oncology infusion RN experience strongly preferred
Certifications and Licenses
Required:
- BLS and ACLS
- Active New Jersey RN License
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift, 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday (1 per month)
- 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and 1 late shift 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM per week
