Position: Perm - Social Worker (LMSW) - Outpatient / Pediatrics (Days)

Position Summary

The Child and Family Therapist provides mental health treatment and case management services in home or community settings based on family needs and preferences. This position delivers Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) clinical services, including behavioral therapy targeting school and family behavior. The therapist also helps families develop collaborative relationships with other human service organizations and coordinates services provided by multiple providers to eliminate barriers and maintain ongoing support for families.

Compensation

and Schedule

Child and Family Therapist – TFCO Family Therapist — Sign-On Bonus: $3,000
Pay: Dependent on licensing and experience (grant-based; no negotiation/flexibility)

  • Full License: $30.90 – $40.89/hour
  • Limited License: $28.68 – $37.91/hour

Shift Type: Days
Shift Times: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours/Day: 8
Shift Notes: Must maintain flexible work schedules and cell phone availability; on-call rotation may require availability 7 days/week, 24 hours/day
Weekend Requirements: Varies
On-Call Requirements: On rotation

On-Call Availability is on rotation as described above.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide weekly family therapy using the TFCO treatment model, introducing behavioral coping and parenting skills, and coaching interventions.
  • Engage primary caregivers and other participants in change-oriented treatment.
  • Identify and overcome barriers to engagement.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with families.
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using TFCO-compatible methods.
  • Deliver family therapy.
  • Coordinate services with mental health and medical professionals.
  • Facilitate collateral contacts with schools and community organizations on behalf of children and families.
  • Advocate for families to meet their needs and achieve self-sufficiency.
  • Link families with community resources.
  • Assist in scheduling psychiatric evaluations and medication reviews with psychiatrists.
  • Identify and eliminate barriers to services.
  • Enhance existing community services and develop new services as needed.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Make referrals to Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services as needed.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, case consultations, and training.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Travel as needed; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard ($0.64/mile).
  • Any training provided by the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Required licenses: LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP.
  • Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements of a Child Mental Health Professional within 120 days of hire.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in evaluation and treatment of minors and families.
  • Nonjudgmental, culturally competent, and sensitive to diverse family needs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic and collaborative relationships.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexible, patient, and creative in approach.
  • Favorable driving record and ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Experience
  • Working with families and within a team environment.
  • Administering social skills assessments and interventions.
  • Direct use of pragmatic (structural, strategic, functional) family therapies.
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy with children and adults.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
Additional License Requirements
  • LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP.
