Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client in Lincoln Park, Michigan. This position is a Contract to permanent opportunity, offering an excellent chance to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to critical accounting and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll management and Quick Books Desktop expertise, along with a solid understanding of income tax laws, corporate income tax a plus.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate completion of all payroll activities.

- Provide training to team members and new employees on Quick Books Desktop to enhance operational efficiency.

- Manage compliance with current tax laws and regulations, including preparing and filing 941s, 940s, W2s, and W3s.

- Supervise a team of seven employees, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance.

- Assist with income tax preparation and related financial reporting.

- Collaborate with the Social Security Administration to ensure proper documentation and compliance.

- Conduct account reconciliations and journal entries as part of month-end close processes.

- Prepare and review financial statements and assist with audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize Drake Tax Software to manage tax filings and reporting.

- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax regulations and financial matters.

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or payroll management.

- Expertise in Quick Books Desktop, with the ability to train others on the platform.

- Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and compliance standards.

- Familiarity with corporate income tax preparation and tax law regulations.

- Proficiency in Drake Tax Software a plus but not required.

- Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise others.

- Solid understanding of month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.

- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
