Job Summary
: MPC Financial Corporation, a professional full-service accounting & income tax preparation firm has an immediate need for an Income Tax Preparer for our growing business. This position is perfect for an individual who is looking to join a fast-paced, diverse, and hands-on client environment. The ideal candidate must be a well-organized, self-directed individual with strong motivation, and willingness to take initiative.

The right candidate will work closely with our other accountants and operations personnel handling all accounting and income tax-related tasks. This is a full-time position.

• Be comfortable meeting one-on-one with clients and advise on the tax preparation process.
• Enter client’s personal and financial data into Drake Tax Software.
• Analyze documents and financial data submitted to maximize the client’s outcome.
• Adhere to company standards and procedures for filing individual and business income taxes.
• Electronically prepare and submit tax returns in a timely manner.
• Inspect all tax forms for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure confidentiality by following company guidelines and procedures.

• High school diploma required;
  Associate's or Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in tax preparation.
• Familiar with using Drake Tax Software is a must.
• Aware of new tax laws and changes.
• Have a PTIN or willing to obtain one with the IRS is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases.
• Ability to speak Spanish is a must.

• PTIN is required or willing to obtain.
• Enrolled Agent is a plus but not required.

• Schedule:
  
  Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 8 PM with additional hours during tax season.
• Work Location:
  
  On-site (Lincoln Park, MI Office).
