Job Description
This UAW-represented position is responsible for the operation of high-pressure boilers and related powerhouse equipment under the supervision of a licensed steam engineer or powerhouse equipment under the supervision of a licensed steam engineer or Powerhouse Supervisor (Team Advisor).
Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Read dials, gauges, and meters, such as feed-water meter, and make appropriate adjustments to maintain proper powerhouse operation.
- Responsible for the operation of boiler feed pumps, hot wall pumps, service pumps, etc.
- Perform minor repairs to equipment in the employee’s charge and advise engineer of other repairs which may be necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Must have and be able to maintain a State of Ohio 3 rd Class Stationary Steam Engineer’s license; or, have a current State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operators license and successfully obtain a State of Ohio 3 rd Class Stationary Steam Engineer license and maintain said license.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain unescorted facility access via the vetting process as administered by the Department of Army Police.
- Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts as required.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.
Working Conditions & Environment:
- Climb stairs and ladders.
- Work in and around dust, fumes, oils, mists and in areas with a high noise volume.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Work in inclement weather.
- Work in extreme heat and cold.
- Wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing, including but not limited to a respirator, is mandatory.
- Bending, kneeling, stooping and crawling.
- Potential for walking and standing on uneven surfaces.
- May be assigned to work any shift.
Work overtime as required.
