Experience:
1+ year required (acute care experience preferred) - License: Active RN license (state license or Nurse Licensure Compact
, as applicable) - Certifications:
BLS and ACLS required;
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required - Telemetry
Skills:
Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia competency (dysrhythmia exam required) - Cardiac Care Preferred: Comfort with pre/post cardiac cath care and titration of cardiac drips strongly preferred
- Provide safe, evidence‑based patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Monitor and interpret telemetry
; recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, rhythm changes, and clinical deterioration. - Care for cardiac‑focused patients including chest pain rule‑outs, CHF exacerbations, and pre/post cath patients.
- Manage and titrate common cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin (no pressors).
- Administer medications and treatments per scope and policy; document accurately and on time in the medical record.
- Coordinate care across departments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient goals.
- Support patient/family education, discharge readiness, and care coordination.
- Maintain patient safety and infection prevention practices, including appropriate use of PPE and universal precautions.
- Work with standard devices/lines such as ports, PICCs, JP drains, occasional stable chest tubes, and chronic CPAP/BiPAP patients (acute needs transferred).
