- Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry Ortho (28 beds)
- Patient Population: Orthopedic, trauma ortho, select medical, and bariatric post‑op patients
- Support Staff: Unit clerk (M‑F, 7a‑3:30p), charge RN with assignment, clinical shift supervisor at night
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent RN experience required; 1 year Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred
- License: Active RN license in Ohio or compact state
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required

Skills:
Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available); experience with surgical drains (Hemovac, JP, True‑close), post‑op ortho care, safe patient mobilization - Preferred Technology: Experience with Alaris infusion pumps, hercules beds, and Epic EHR
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and ability to remain composed in high‑acuity situations
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop/update individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including continuous cardiac monitoring and escalation for rhythm changes
- Administer medications and treatments per policy; assess therapeutic response and monitor for adverse effects
- Manage lines, drains, and devices (Hemovac, JP, True‑close) and support post‑op recovery and mobilization
- Provide oxygen therapy as indicated (nasal cannula, venturi mask, occasional non‑rebreather, and BiPAP when appropriate)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and support staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality patient care
- Educate patients and families on post‑op expectations, mobility, drain care, and discharge planning
- Promote patient safety, privacy, and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining composure during high‑acuity events
- Work in a modern 28‑bed Med/Surg Telemetry Ortho unit with a supportive team
- Hands‑on orthopedic and post‑operative nursing experience for professional growth
