Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele and Renal unit requiring at least 2 years of experience, ACLS certification, and the ability to pass an EKG exam.

• 28-bed General Med/Surg Telemetry and Renal unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 2 techs per shift; charge nurses are out of ratio on days and in ratio on nights
• Patient population includes renal patients and those requiring telemetry monitoring, drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Heparin), and respiratory support (Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow and Nasal Cannula)
• Nurses are expected to independently read and interpret telemetry every 4 hours
• Phlebotomy services are available for peripheral lab draws
• Schedule:
  
  12-hour PM shifts, every other weekend (EOW), every other holiday (EOH)
• Charting performed in Epic
• CAPD experience is preferred
• Epic EHR experience is preferred
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and with family members or caregivers
• Clinically manage patients with multisystem organ failure and/or multisystem trauma
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active OH RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Ability to pass a pass/fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed; study guide provided)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• SSN, DOB, proof of address, 1 supervisory reference, copy of certifications, and Nursys license required for consideration
