Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry Location

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12 Hour Nights) - 36 Hour Guarantee

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Make clinical judgments based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff.

• 2+ years of experience in nursing - [REQUIRED]
• Strong competency with Cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, and Bumex, along with knowledge of titration and application of these medications - [REQUIRED]
• Competency in telemetry and knowledge of heart rhythms - [REQUIRED]
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to recognize changes in patient status and intervene - [REQUIRED]
• Knowledge of stroke signs/symptoms and ability to recognize changes in patient status - [REQUIRED]
• Active American Heart Association BLS - [REQUIRED]
• Active American Heart Association ACLS - [REQUIRED]
• Active NIHSS Certification - [REQUIRED]
• Active Ohio or Compact RN License - [REQUIRED]
