ResponsibilitiesThe Utility Sanitation person ensures that the facility and equipment are clean, organized and suitable for food production. Shift: 6 pm to 6 am, 2‑2‑3 schedule – D crew.
- Empty trash cans, bins & barrels throughout the day
- Clean and sanitize trash cans, bins & barrels
- Hose & squeegee sanitation room floor
- Sweep main corridor and plant entrance hallway
- Mop corridor and plant entrance hallway 2×/day
- Empty & refill footbath 2‑3×/day; verify sanitizer strength
- Pick up debris/trash in main corridor
- Run floor scrubber, empty & rinse; mop edges of main corridor
- Clean trash compactor dock (inside)
- Tidy sanitation room; lock chemical storage area
- Logout of Quaddex system
- Sweep pest‑control chases; perform pest‑control inspections
- Other duties may be assigned
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients, and employees
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units; compute rate, ratio, percent; interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated instructions
- Problem solving in simple, standardized situations
- Knowledge of manufacturing software
Physical / Environmental Requirements Employees may be exposed to wet or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration, and occasional electrical shock. Lifting requirements: up to 10 lbs regularly, up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs occasionally. Tasks involve standing, walking, using hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, as well as talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
