Environmental Technician
Join Insight Environmental, Inc. as an Environmental Technician in Lima, Ohio. This full‑time position involves inspecting and monitoring sites to ensure compliance while maintaining safety and integrity.

RoleAs an Environmental Technician, you’ll assist clients in meeting compliance standards at oil refineries and other sites, performing inspections, testing, and reporting.
Responsibilities- Perform environmental compliance inspections at oil refineries using air monitoring equipment and data collectors.
- Supervise and conduct environmental inspections, monitoring, and testing.
- Conduct Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections with a flame ionization detector (FID).
- Manage the environmental database (LeakDAS).
- Maintain identification of LDAR components, piping, and instrument diagrams.
- Maintain record‑keeping and generate maintenance work orders.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports.
- Perform optical gas imaging inspections.
- Participate in weekly compliance and safety meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma;
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Rapid acquisition of knowledge of 40 CFR Part 60 and state LDAR rules.
- Experience reading P&IDs and troubleshooting instrumentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to learn various environmental databases.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 200 ft, outdoors in all weather, and in pipe racks or towers.
- Must carry a backpack with tools (50 lb).
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other sites.
Full‑time — 40 hours per week with minimal overtime. Pay: $22.00–$27.00 per hour.
