Environmental Technician

Role

As an Environmental Technician, you’ll assist clients in meeting compliance standards at oil refineries and other sites, performing inspections, testing, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform environmental compliance inspections at oil refineries using air monitoring equipment and data collectors.
  • Supervise and conduct environmental inspections, monitoring, and testing.
  • Conduct Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections with a flame ionization detector (FID).
  • Manage the environmental database (LeakDAS).
  • Maintain identification of LDAR components, piping, and instrument diagrams.
  • Maintain record‑keeping and generate maintenance work orders.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports.
  • Perform optical gas imaging inspections.
  • Participate in weekly compliance and safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
  • High School Diploma;
    Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Rapid acquisition of knowledge of 40 CFR Part 60 and state LDAR rules.
  • Experience reading P&IDs and troubleshooting instrumentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn various environmental databases.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 200 ft, outdoors in all weather, and in pipe racks or towers.
  • Must carry a backpack with tools (50 lb).
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other sites.
Job Type

Full‑time — 40 hours per week with minimal overtime. Pay: $22.00–$27.00 per hour.
