Lilburn Christian Church is a Christ-centered, non-denominational congregation committed to worship, spreading the Gospel, spiritual growth, community engagement, and service. We seek a Senior Minister who will provide strong spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and strategic vision as we continue to grow in faith and mission.
Lilburn Christian Church, a congregation of approx. 160-200, is seeking someone with diverse ministry skills and experience to help lead the Church in reaching its potential for Christ.
Position SummaryThe Senior Minister serves as a spiritual leader of the congregation, responsible for preaching, teaching (Wednesday evening Bible study, Sunday School, Home groups as needed), pastoral care, leadership development, and overall ministry direction. This role requires a compassionate shepherd, gifted communicator, and collaborative leader who can guide the church in fulfilling its mission. The Senior minister works with the Elders in charting the course for the future direction of the Church.
A Candidate must be an immersed believer in Christ and fully support the beliefs of the Church as outlined in our belief statement on our website, LCC is looking for someone who feels a definite call to ministry, and a strong desire to serve Christ.
Key Responsibilities- Spiritual Leadership & Preaching
- Preach biblically grounded, engaging, and relevant sermons
- Provide theological leadership consistent with the church’s beliefs
- Lead, collaborate and direct other ministers and staff
- Train and lead volunteers from the Church in serving Christ in an effective way in the congregation and in the community
- Pastoral Care
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to individuals and families through hospital and home visits, calls
- Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and counseling
- Foster a culture of care, prayer, and spiritual growth
- Leadership & Administration
- Provide vision and strategic direction for the church’s ministries
- Supervise and support church staff and ministry leaders
- Collaborate with elders, deacons, or board members on governance and planning
- Participate in budgeting, planning, and stewardship efforts
- Discipleship & Outreach
- Encourage discipleship, small groups, and leadership development
- Support evangelism, missions, and community outreach initiatives
- Represent the church in a Christ like manner in person, and digitally (i.e. social media, email, online)
Required
- A clear calling to pastoral ministry
- Strong biblical knowledge and theological training
- Excellent preaching, teaching, and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and pastoral experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and lay leaders
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, basic computer skills, managing files, documents, etc.
Preferred
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent theological degree
- Ordination (or eligibility for ordination) within the Christian Church
- 5+ years of ministry leadership experience
- Experience leading a multi-staff, multi-cultural, growing congregation
- Spiritually mature and prayer-centered
- Humble, approachable, and emotionally intelligent
- Strong moral character and integrity
- Visionary leader with a servant’s heart
