Assists varied levels of technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges.
Responsibilities- Assists with basic maintenance assignments involving preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical and mechanical adjustments.
- Mays diagnose equipment failures under senior guidance and ensures equipment is running safely.
- Works under direction, accepts training and mentoring, reads repair manuals and schematics.
- Works in tight/high spaces using PPE and fall protection.
- Follows company and federal policies, completes all required training and forms.
- Performs additional duties/assignments as required.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience, 1 year BHS or PBB experience, or ability to pass mechanical aptitude test.
- Ability to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to read, write, speak English.
- Must obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance policy.
- Compliance with ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
- Previous work experience in an airport environment.
- Experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.
- Strong problem‑solving, customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Organized, systematic approach to tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Honesty, credibility, and compliance with safety.
Basic computer knowledge. Ability to log in, retrieve and respond to emails, and complete training.
Physical DemandsPhysical demands vary and include lifting 10–20 lb frequently, climbing, standing, walking, handling up to 10 lb often, and other moderate to frequent physical activities.
Work EnvironmentWorks at an Airport Terminal; dust, dirt and noise below OSHA action level.
