Retail Customer Service Hawaii

Divine Planet is a local chain of three retail stores on the island of Kauai. We have been serving customers in paradise for the last 20 years.

We are seeking energetic, trustworthy, reliable people to work for us on a six month contract in Hawaii. No experience necessary but we prefer some retail experience. Employees will learn the basics of retail, including POS, customer service, sales, inventory control and merchandising. What you learn will benefit you in any future position.

Daily duties include serving customers, restocking shelves, processing new inventory and communicating with our warehouse when items are low. Shifts are during the day, or afternoons/early evenings, and will include at least some weekends and holidays.

The shops are fast-paced, and the merchandise is targeted towards visitors. We offer nice quality garments, locally made products, jewelry and souvenirs. We have one store in Hanalei on the north shore, and two stores in Koloa on the south shore. To see our website that shows a tiny sliver of what we offer visit . All our staff learn how to deal with the general public and promote our merchandise. Candidates should have a positive outlook, be willing to engage with customers, be responsible and punctual. They will need a valid driver license, be able to lift a 30 lb. box, and be willing to commit to six months on beautiful Kauai. We do not allow pets.

Starting pay is $15/hr company also provides vehicles for work and personal use, accommodations in a shared house with other contract staff including utilities, and round trip airfare. The schedule will require 25-35 hours per week, not including drive times. Most shifts are 5-6 hours in an air-conditioned store.

Our employee house is five minutes from the Sleeping Giant trail, and one mile from the beach and the coastal bike path. Employee will have access to bikes, boogie boards and the most lush island in Hawaii. Kauai has fantastic beaches, scenic hikes, incredible snorkeling, and people that show true aloha spirit. You may use the car for personal use on days off.

You may be thinking, "this is too good to be true." We have been using contract employees in our stores for several years. Since Covid it has become difficult to find workers locally, so we have been bringing in contract workers as a way to augment our hiring. This shortage of workers has affected most service-oriented businesses on the island, like retail, restaurants, tours, etc.
