We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and a detail‑oriented approach to clean and maintain commercial buildings. Must have prior hands‑on work experience in basic maintenance, custodial work, or related experience.
The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas, maintaining inventory of cleaning‑maintenance supplies, basic repairs on property and reporting any maintenance issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential. All applicants must successfully pass the HBM prescreen check, must have a valid Hawaii driver’s license and dependable vehicle.

Title:
Custodian Floater
Schedule:
Variable (6 am to 2:30 pm or 1 pm to 9:30 pm, 5 days, 40 hours per week). Subject to emergencies: after hours, weekends and holidays.
Compensation: $26.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities- Travel to various locations on the island to provide coverage as needed.
- Perform a wide range of custodial tasks, including cleaning, preventative maintenance inspections and repairs (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, and grounds maintenance).
- Ensure all mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and carry out necessary repairs.
- Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all work complies with company standards and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with property managers, vendors, and customers.
- Lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs., up to 75 lbs., and perform activities such as walking, bending, and stretching during shifts.
- Perform any additional maintenance duties as directed by the HBM supervisor or property management.
- Must successfully pass the HBM prescreen check.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility in work schedule.
- Previous experience in custodial duties and general preventative maintenance, including foundational skills in basic plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance, cleaning methods, and repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks efficiently, and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor safely and operate equipment correctly.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
