Mechanical Fitting / Maintenance Fitting – permanent

£52,000 to £53,000 per annum + overtime paid at ×1.5 and ×2.0 (£5k+ potential) + benefits, opportunities to progress through grade levels and receive enhancements.

4 on 4 off, 6 am till 6 pm – continental shift pattern.

Commutable from Walsall, Lichfield, Cannock, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Tamworth and surrounding areas.

We are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter to work within a large engineering department of 18 engineers. It is a supported, driven maintenance team that manages production machinery through planned and reactive maintenance, and carries out project work. This varied and interesting role keeps you busy juggling and prioritising workloads while learning new skills and advancing your career. The company offers engineers the chance to progress through grades, receive salary enhancements, and take on greater responsibility.

• Planned Preventative Maintenance across a range of equipment and machinery.
• Dealing with machinery breakdowns and problems: fault‑finding, diagnostics and repairs.
• Assisting with planned shut‑downs and project work, refurbishing machines and replacing worn parts.

• Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications.
• Experience in a similar environment;
  Industrial, Production or Manufacturing environments – most considered, ideally in a heavy plant environment.
• Maintenance experience – dealing with machinery and equipment problems and breakdowns and/or completing preventative maintenance of plant/industrial machinery.
• Any experience of some of the following:
  Belts, Chains, Gear Boxes, Pumps, Bearings, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding and Fabricating.
• Motivated and driven to succeed.
• Willing to take on and complete further training as part of growth and development in the factory and company.
