Groundwater Modelling Advisor – 32524
Environment Agency is seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist and Project Manager to support the groundwater modelling programme in East Anglia. The role involves developing and managing groundwater models, delivering regulatory projects, and informing water‑resources and water‑quality decisions.

Responsibilities- Lead the groundwater investigation and modelling programme, using consultant or in‑house resources to undertake field investigations, refine and update groundwater models, and test scenarios to support decision making.
- Manage projects from initiation through to delivery of outputs within the technical projects team.
- Act as a technical expert for groundwater investigations and modelling, keeping abreast of current work across the Environment Agency and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the issuance of intellectual‑property licences to external organisations seeking to use Agency data, information and models.
- Actively contribute to the wider groundwater modelling community and national technical leadership.
- Water‑resources specialist experience with groundwater modelling and the ability to provide technical leadership.
- Successful track record in delivering high‑value projects, including securing budgets, obtaining project approvals, and procuring and managing consultants or in‑house resources.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise complex activities.
- Proficient in interpreting groundwater model results and translating them into actionable insights for decision makers.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to a range of audiences and managing expectations.
- Degree level education in a relevant discipline; a higher degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology or Water‑Resource Engineering is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and encourage consideration of diversity issues.
