To assist in supervisory capacity in the provisions for the security and protection of all students, staff and property. This position is an 'as needed' status, based on the staffing needs throughout the school year.

• High School graduate
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with students, staff, and the general public
• Able to follow oral and written instructions
• Physical ability to climb stairs, walk extensively, stand for extended periods of time, and lift 30 lbs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• People-oriented – supportive and fairness‑focused
• Team‑oriented – cooperative and collaborative
• Has a tolerance for opposing points of view.
• Strives for collaboration. Works cooperatively, as a positive contributor to the team.
• Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year
• The individual must have good problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work occasional additional hours as required by the operational needs of the department
• Law enforcement/security background preferred
• Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred

Director of Security

• Check washrooms, secure/open doors as required, and make sure students are where assigned
• Circulate in and outside of building as assigned
• Monitor the staff and student parking lot
• Provide a proactive presence in hallways and other areas to observe and encourage positive student behavior
• Monitor assigned door area verifying student and visitor authorization to be present
• Supervise students in the cafeteria and/or assigned halls or rooms
• Able to write a detailed report when requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

The individual must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time, be mobile to move from one place to another, stoop, bend and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

The individual will perform other related tasks and/or duties as assigned by the Administration.
