Schedule Details/Additional Information: 11-7:30pm most days, every other weekend off.

Pay Range

$20.80 - $31.20

• The cook is held accountable for achieving the preparation of quality and safe foood. The cook will accomplish quality and safe food by doing the following:
• Quality food preparation (35%)
  • utilizes standardized recipes and ingredient control.
  • follows proper preparation procedures
  • checks food texture, color, aroma and taste prior to service.
• Safe food handling procedures (15%)
  • proper food rotation (first in first out)
  • safe food storage (no cross-contamination); label and date all food items
  • utilizes product within 48 hours of preparation date
• Proper time management (10%)
  • follows position timeline/job routine
  • safe food storage (no cross-contamination); label and date all food items
  • productive and efficient use of non-break time
• Responsible cost controls (10%)
  • records all food production amounts
  • maintains department timeline through on-time performance
  • adheres to department's attendance/time card policies
  • productive and efficient use of non-break time
• Training (5%)
  • attends scheduled department in services
  • attends/gives feedback participates in production meetings
  • successfully cross-trains in all production positions
  • assists with cross-training of other employees
  • reports any problems with recipes, production sheets, productions numbers promptly for continuous quality improvement
• Guest relations (25%)
  • contributes to hospital's mission statement and values in all interactions
  • follows established uniform policy

Required: 2+ years of healthcare/trayline or related experience. High school diploma

Required: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Ability to communicate effectively.

Various room temperatures

• Numerous occasions of bending and/or lifting as related to essential job activities
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly)
• Wet, slippery floors; contact with cleaning chemicals; subject to cuts and burns
• Various shifts and work positions
• This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties.
